I have acne on my forehead that never seems to disappear.
Everytime I blow-dry my hair, it gets frizzy.
I have a deep scar at the top of my chest.
And across the palm of my hand.
I am considered "over weight."
My thighs and hips are licked and littered with stretch marks.
I have legs whiter than my teeth.
But you know what? That doesn't matter. None of it matters. I HAVE a body.
I have a high I.Q.
My lungs can easily capture, hold, and release air.
My heart has a regular beat.
I can hear, see, smell, and touch.
My legs can support and carry me wherever I wish.
I feel deep emotion for myself and others.
I've been blessed with the opportunity to live inside a human body. I could have been a dog, or a bug, or a leaf. But for some miraculous reason, I was chosen to be human. And for that, I will be eternally grateful.
This was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can totally relate.
This is so, so so beautiful! It's as if it was written from my perspective too. So important to remember. fantastic stuff!!!!
ReplyDeleteSelf-love is cool :)
ReplyDelete& for the record - I think stretch marks are rad. They look like lil purple/pink lightning bolts and I love it. I wish I had them.
Lol anyway, great post (: inspiring.
