I'm Too Tired to Shower

I wore a hat to school because I was just too tired to shower.

Too tired to eat breakfast.

Too tired to put on anything but jeans and my old jacket.

Too tired to thank the bus driver.

Too tired to find someone to small talk with before the bell rang.

Too tired to pay any attention to anyone important.

And I was too tired to explain why I wore my hat so often.

I am tired because "Mean Girls" suddenly became more important than actually being kind to someone.

I'm tired because the nicest girl I ever met never got asked to prom.

I'm tired because there are war sickened people and our government turned a blind eye.

I am tired because I am supossedly "Plus Sized."

I am tired because my friends keep dying and all that happened was a day for everyone to show off their nice clothes.

That's why I'm wearing a hat.
